Chapter 5: Fool Me Once...Shame On You

Once "Once Upon A Time" was over, Olivia fell silent.  She didn't know what to do.  She didn't want to talk about anything.  Olivia was still upset about the whole "Usher and Maciah" situation, and now here he is reminder her about everything the had and lost.

"O, I..." Usher didn't know what he could say that he already has said. "I know I messed up, but I miss you.  I love you.  Babe, I need you."

Olivia just said there, staring at the the television aimlessly.  She had to admit to herself, she missed him too.  "Usher, I don't know if I want to work things out.  I mean, it's not like you two slept with each other once, you two basically had a relationship.  Then on top of that, she's pregnant.  This isn't something petty like, oops you forgot our anniversary, that I could forgive so easily."

"I know Olivia and I understand.  I don't deserve you.  You are one of the most important people in my life, and since my brother died it's even more..."

"Don't bring your brother in this!  You can't pull the petty card on me Usher.  You cheated on me for 18 months. That's 548 days of betrayal!!!"

"Babe, I know, but we've been together for double that time.  We were friends even longer than that.  You are my childhood crush, my high school sweetheart, and more.  We can work it out.  I know we can.  I'm willing to do anything to make it work."

Olivia couldn't help but feel confused.  She knows logically it couldn't work.  The damage was beyond repair and honestly she doesn't want to be with someone who lied to her so easily.  Then there was the part that knew she was willing to try too.

"I have to think about it Usher.  It's not that simple.  The trust is completely gone, and I don't want to constantly worry every time you're out of my sight are you with another girl."

"If we make it work, I can guarantee that I won't.  You're the only woman I want to be with."  Then he got on his knee and pulled out a little box "I want you to be my wife.  I'm not asking you to marry me now, but I want you to know that I'm in this for the long hall and I'm not going anywhere, and I'm not giving up."

Olivia opened the box and saw the ring.  It was beautiful.  She knew it was his grandmother's ring that she gave to him at his brother's funeral.  She wanted him to give it to his wife whenever he got married.  Tears started streaming down Olivia's heart shaped face and then looked at Usher.  "If we make this work, we're gonna have to take it slow."

Usher leaped up, picked her up and spun her around the room.  "WHOA!  I got my baby back."  And they kissed.  Olivia couldn't help it, she missed him, and it was felt awesome to be in his arms, and have his lips are hers.

"Usher this is your last chance.  Fool me once, shame on you.  Fool me twice, shame on me.  Promise me that you will NEVER cheat on me again."

Usher kissed the lips that he missed, looked into her eyes and said "I promise."  And meant it with all his heart.
